What you'll be doing

As a Client Service Transaction Associate, you will support the Private Banking Team by processing high-risk transactions while adhering to compliance policies, internal controls, and procedures. High-risk transactions include, but are not limited to: money movement, account maintenance, and new account opening. You’ll handle daily servicing and ensure timely resolution of client and banker requests by leveraging your product knowledge and available tools to efficiently execute transactions. In this role, you’ll collaborate with Client Service Advisors, Associate Private Bankers, and Private Bankers to ensure client requests are executed accurately, allowing bankers to deepen client relationships.

How you'll Succeed

  • Transaction Processing – Ensure documentation related to transactions is properly authenticated, approved, completed, and follows key procedures. Accurately and timely enter client transactions for execution and retain transaction documentation for retention purposes.

  • Issue Resolution – Monitor and clear deposit exceptions within 30 days. Respond to client inquiries and, as appropriate, route requests to the proper department while keeping clients and the Private Banking team updated or assisting in additional requested items to complete tasks.

  • Policy Adherence – Actively keep informed of changes to policy and procedure that will impact deposit and credit portfolios. Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the CIBC brand.

  • Team Collaboration – Work closely with Client Service Advisors, Associate Private Bankers, and Private Bankers to ensure appropriate and accurate client requests are executed, supporting the expansion and deepening of client relationships.

  • Other Duties – Complete other related duties as assigned.

Who you are

  • You’re experienced and qualified. You have a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in a private/personal/commercial banking or wealth management role, OR in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 5 years’ higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in a private/personal/commercial banking or wealth management role.

  • You’re detail-oriented. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential.

  • You’re a problem solver. Able to research deposit and credit issues and utilize operations resources to resolve customer issues while keeping clients and the local Private Banking team informed during the process.

  • You’re collaborative. Ability to foster and maintain internal relationships with a high level of competency and demonstrated experience working in a professional team environment.

  • You’re knowledgeable. Experience with deposit products and relationship management (or equivalent skills) required. Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Real Estate, or Economics preferred.

  • You’re tech-savvy. Proficient in Microsoft Office products with advanced knowledge of financial analysis and modeling.

At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package. This role has an expected salary range of $65,000 - $70,000 for the Chicago, IL market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which also may include a discretionary bonus component. Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location. Additional total compensation and benefits details will be provided during the hiring process.
