What You’ll Be Doing
The Consultant, Web Development is responsible for leading major web development projects, solutioning, coding, and integrating client side initiatives to support sites such as CIBC.com, CIBC online banking, and alternative brand websites. This responsibility includes, but is not limited to product application forms, financial planning tools, marketing microsites, and our internal Template and Content Management Systems, all using client-side web technologies. This is a critical role within the channel, which will directly impact our customers’ online experience as well as public and CIBC stakeholder perception of CIBC Digital’s products and services. Please note, this is a 12 month contract opportunity.

How You’ll Succeed
Leadership - Lead other developers and coordinate activities including translating wire frames and specifications into robust and completed systems. Assist, advise and coach junior team members of the development team. Responsible for creating project work back schedules for the developers, plan an optimized and efficient solution, as well as code these solutions alongside the senior developers.
Project Management - Lead CIBC Digital’s project scale requests initiated by the Digital PMO group and delegate tasks to senior developers in order to implement solutions to CIBC’s web properties.
Business Acumen - Responsible for developing requests initiated by the Digital dailies intake team by performing analysis, developing and maintaining XHTML and XML content components; uploading content components to Template Management System (TMS), Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) and Adobe Target; preparing and publishing daily content and web assets.
Technical Skills - Develop JavaScript-based application forms, financial planning tools/calculators and other single-page web applications using client-side Responsive Web Design (RWD).
Collaboration - Collaborate with various teams including Design, Editorial, and Quality Assurance to successfully publish code to web assets, as well as collaborate with vendors and ensure vendor solutions are integrated successfully in CIBC’s web assets.
Investigation - Investigate production variances by performing root cause analysis and identifying short term and long term technical and process solutions.
Communication - Communicate development team requirements and standards. Investigate production variances by performing root cause analysis and identifying short term and long term technical and process solutions.
Problem Solving - Research emerging technologies and identify opportunities to implement them where value is added, and be able to produce the solutions. Collaborate with others and act as a project leader on business requests in order to help simplify developed solutions and demo to senior executives.
Who You Are
You're Experience. The incumbent must demonstrate a strong understanding of enterprise applications architecture, web technologies and content/technical architecture in order to lead projects and collaborate with other teams, as well as advise and coach junior web developers, and have at least 5+ years working on internet projects and applications. Incumbent must be a subject matter expert and contribute to and document coding standards, and content management best practices including accessibility standards and code version control standards.
