What You'll Be Doing
As a Senior Consultant - Data Analytics, you will be responsible for executing various Commercial Real Estate (CRE) data, automation and analytics activities related to business reporting, data governance, data management and advance analytics. In this position, you will work closely with the Senior Portfolio Managers, other members of CRE leadership, Credit Risk and Services teams to enhance portfolio management practices through the use of advanced data analytics. Given the complexity of data, this role will require a high degree of curiosity, problem solving, innovativeness and hands on experience with Python, Excel, Power Automate and various data science packages. A key facet of this role is finding ways to present the information to the stakeholders in a clear and concise manner
How You’ll Succeed
Use your strong data and analytical skills to identify, collect, organize, analyze, clean and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems.
Provide insights Interpret datasets and analyze results using statistical techniques. to provide ongoing insights to influence our development roadmap.
Work with stakeholders internal and externally to prioritize business use cases across automation, analytics and reporting.
Define and document processes to improve and optimize future opportunities.
Support the primary reporting function within the LOB. Works with other groups in the Bank for any reporting /data /analytics as needed.
Aggregates disparate CRE data for portfolio management reporting, as needed.
Assists in management of CRE’s data (collection, input and validation). Organize data for submission during internal and external exams and audits, and interact with Regulators and auditors during these reviews.

Develop alternative methods to support monitoring portfolio movements to ensure the LOB remains within set risk limits as well as desired business mix.
Enhance portfolio forecasting capabilities through use of available data.
Use advanced analytics (Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning) to supplement existing forecasting practices considering historical and anticipated payoffs, origination activity, and loan fundings.
Develop insights for desired portfolio mix, including geography, clients, and property type, through the use of CRE portfolio data and data obtained from external sources, to inform CRE strategy and establish risk appetite.
Assist and execute processes and/or controls to ensure all data and documentation captured through the origination process is accurate, complete, accomplished in a timely manner

You have a degree/diploma in data engineering, data analytics or a related field. Minimum 5 of years of experience in Commercial Banking.
You have demonstrated experience data governance, data analytics within commercial real estate.
At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package. This role has an expected salary range of $113,000 - $150,000 for the market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which may also include a discretionary bonus component.
