What You’ll Be Doing:

CIBC’s Global Markets division is seeking to hire an Index Quantitative Analyst at the Associate or Director level to support the continued growth and innovation of our index business. This role will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining quantitative models, working on tight timescales to respond to client requests and to ensure efficient and accurate risk management. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with trading, structuring, quant and technology teams. This position is critical to ensuring CIBC remains competitive and successful in this evolving market by leveraging quantitative techniques and close interaction with the business.

How You’ll Succeed:

  • Quant implementation of index strategies, so that they can be traded and risk-managed. Strategies include:

    • New indexes developed internally.

    • Replication of external indexes, developed by third parties.

  • Collaboration with Structuring to establish index rules, replicate backtests, and provide quantitative support.

  • Support for the index trading desks, including understanding risks and troubleshooting discrepancies.

  • Investigation of mismatches or other failures in index daily calculations.

Who You Are:

  • Higher-level degree in numerical or financial subject.

  • Experience in coding, e.g. Python, C#, C++.

  • (Desirable) 2+ years’ experience in a derivatives- or index-related role at a bank or other financial institution.

  • (Desirable) High level of familiarity with Excel.

At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package. This role has an expected salary range of $150,000-$225,000 for the New York, NY market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which also may include a discretionary bonus component. Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location. Additional total compensation and benefits details will be provided during the hiring process.
