What You’ll Be Doing

As an integral member of Simplii Financials’ Operations teams and reporting to the Senior Director Operations, the Senior Manager, Operational Finance Efficiency, collaborates with finance teams to forecast operational spend for the fiscal year, while overseeing invoice processing and management. The Senior Manager is responsible for incorporating best financial practices to streamline processes, enhance efficiency, and eliminate unnecessary costs. The Sr. Manager will also work closely with stakeholders across the organization to reduce operational losses and will focus on developing the financial and business acumen of their team. Simplii Financials' Finance Operations is responsible for daily reconciliation, accounting and reporting functions as well as managing and balancing the Bank/s Ledger accounts including Automated Banking Machines (ABM), Point of Sale (POS), Remote Banking (RB) and 30 other Suspense Accounts for Simplii.

How you'll succeed

  • Data integrity and analysis - Balance the bank functions on managing reconciliation of suspense accounts used by RCS (Retail Client Services), RPS (Retail Payment Services) and Operational Risk units. This involves resolution of outstanding items in the suspense. Manage daily, monthly and Financial Year-end activities including critical review of journal entries and financial results. Communicate variances and issues proactively, and ensure timely and accurate completion of accounting activities. Collaborate with Finance teams on overall spend and forecasting for Simplii transits. Maintain end to end invoice processing and management for Simplii Business.

  • Leadership skills – Be the subject matter expert to support end-to-end project implementation, providing guidance to a diverse team of technology and project professionals. Foster a collaborative work environment and assist team members in resolving organizational, operational, and process challenges. Proactively identify potential issues and recommend improvements or enhancements. Develop innovative solutions and new approaches to address situations, problems, and opportunities. Conduct research and root cause analysis, evaluate trade-offs between usability, performance, and business objectives, and create models and “what-if” scenarios to present optimal solutions and a range of options to management.

  • Coordination – Act as a subject matter expert on projects from a financial perspective, identifying potential financial obstacles or risks that could impact project timelines or success. Provide regular status updates to the business, maintain open communication with stakeholders, and escalate issues as needed. Ensure all deliverables are received, approved, and aligned with project timelines.

  • Compliance - Ensure the effectiveness and regular execution of Finance SOX controls, including the management of invoicing, suspense accounts, to identify and mitigate risk exposure, escalating issues as appropriate. Adhere to Records Management procedures for the proper storage and archiving of digital documents for future reference.

Who You Are

  • You can demonstrate 3 to 7 years of work experience in managing account reconciliation processes, including manage monthly and quarterly reconciliations and balance sheet accounts, investigating discrepancies, implementing corrective actions, and ensuring compliance with internal controls.

  • You are a certified professional. You have your CPA certification.

  • You can demonstrate 1 to 2 years work experience in leading teams, manage projects, and influence stakeholders. You have proven organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple high-priority projects.

  • You are a bold and accountable leader. You’re passionate about developing and growing team members capabilities. You have experience providing coaching and hands on support to meet team goals.
