What You’ll Be Doing

As a Network Engineer you will bring deep networking experience working with core network technologies including Cisco’s IOS-XE and NXOS, and deep understanding of connectivity using Express Route Direct and Direct Connect. As a Network Engineer, you’ll be responsible for the design, maintenance and quality assurance of CIBC Network infrastructure. This role requires expertise in edge routing protocols including BGP and OSPF, IS-IS as well as some experience with firewalls (Palo Alto and Fortigate) and load balancing technologies (F5, Azure LB, AVI. You will provide technical leadership, interpreting complex information and coordinating relationships to meet and manage service expectations, aligned to best practices. Experience with SD-WAN and overlay network technologies considered an asset.

How You’ll Succeed

  • Leadership: Provide technical leadership during the design, build, configuration, implementation and maintenance phases of major public and private technologies and automation tooling in a multi-platform environment and in the data centers.

  • Technological Knowledge - Demonstrate strong technical experience in Networks Engineering planning and design, utilizing your skillset in a leadership capacity to drive progress and provide resolution to any issues that may arise.

  • Collaboration: Partner senior leaders and other Lines of Business across the company and make informed recommendations to enhance solutions. Work with the Enterprise Architecture team on identifying requirements and design for continuous evolution of solutions and data center integrations.

Who You Are

  • You can demonstrate 10+ years' experience in a large enterprise environment and practical working knowledge of networking, network security, VPN and routers and switches.

  • You possess CCIE certifications or are working toward obtaining it to demonstrate you can design and implement Cisco Routing and Switching networks. SD-WAN and overlay network technologies considered an asset.

  • It is an asset if you have experience with network automation, load balancing (F5, Avi), API programming, and Cloud (Azure, AWS). You have expert experience in highly available / resilient wide-area networking architecture and design. Your knowledge of WAN technologies (MPLS/IPVPN/SDWAN), IPAM, DNS (Infoblox) NTP . You have advance knowledge and experience with BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, VXLAN. You have some understanding of IPSec Tunnels, Virtual WAN, WAF, Network Security Groups (NSG) and other network and security components of Azure and AWS / GCP.

  • You are an Excellent Communicator. You have solid written and oral communication skills and an ability to produce a variety of business documents that demonstrate command of language, clarity of thought and orderliness of presentation as well as express oneself and communicate with others verbally; recognizing that verbal communication is more than just language - it includes tone, style and structure.

  • You have ability to manage multiple priorities. Ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups or activities. Effective judgment in prioritizing and time allocation.

  • You have decision making and critical thinking skill. You have knowledge of tools and techniques for effective use of a broad range of factors, assumptions, frameworks and perspectives when solving problems.
