What you'll be doing
The Manager of U.S. Region Credit Control/Accounting reports to the U.S. Region Assistant Controller and will be a leading contributor and serve as a key point of contact to the U.S. loan administration, U.S. loan operations, and accounting operations. As part of the U.S. Finance team this position will be responsible for accounting, reporting, and internal controls with respect to the loan portfolio and other various areas in the U.S. region.

How you'll succeed
Ensure the bank’s allowance for loan loss is completed in accordance with CECL.
Prepare general allowance reconciliations to ensure the financial statements are accurate.
Prepare and record asset, liability, revenue and expense journal entries by compiling/analyzing complex account and transactional information
Research and resolve any reconciling items in a timely manner.
Develop, monitor and complete quarterly controls.
Ensure all tasks are completed in accordance with internal controls and accounting procedures.
Ensure month end and quarter end reporting is complete and accurate and compliant with both IFRS and US GAAP.
Preparation of quarterly / annual regulatory and external reporting schedules.
Prepare ad hoc analysis and reporting to support the bank and regulatory reporting.
Act as accounting liaison with loan operations to ensure proper accounting of interest, fees, and loan balances.
Build strong and effective relationships with support groups in the US entities and the Parent Bank.
Enhance documentation to support audit and SOX controls.
Manage multiple tasks and projects as assigned by senior management.

Who you are
Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance.
CPA required
5+ years progressive accounting experience; strong exposure and understanding of consolidation and financial statement reporting; experience in a multi-national organization a plus.
Strong analytical skills and technical experience of storage and movement of data with ability to extract data from accounting systems and apply information appropriately
Excellent organizational skills with ability to prioritize multiple simultaneous projects
Flexibility and creativity to adapt to changing priorities.
Superior communication skills to promote interactions and co-operation with stakeholders across the enterprise.
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and add-in tools (Hyperion Smartview & Dodeca), data visualization and data analytics automation platforms (Tableau & Alteryx).
At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package. This role has an expected salary range of $120,000K - $140,000K for the market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which may also include a discretionary bonus component.
