What you'll be doing

As a member of CIBC’s team, the Director, Insurance Advice & Channel Partnership will focus on three priorities: make it easy to bank with, win at relationships, and deliver leading financial products and services. The expected outcome is to improve client experience, deliver consistent earnings growth, achieve positive operating leverage, and retain a winning team that is inspired to meet the evolving personal and business needs of Canadians. As a Director, you’ll develop and maintain internal relationships across the organization in and outside of product, channel and technology, including negotiating and influencing opinion. In addition, you’ll provide sophisticated analysis of complex business information and makes comprehensive recommendations to management including executives and business leaders. You’ll drive innovation across areas of responsibility, apply expert interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.

How you'll succeed

  • Strategy, planning and enhancing advice strategies – Contribute to long-term strategy for the business in collaboration with the Senior Director and other business leaders. Perform in-depth analysis for the purpose of identifying opportunities, developing strategic proposals and competitive strategies and targets the product offering with the objective of increasing business revenue, competitiveness, growing market share and reducing operational costs. Collaborate with internal partners to oversee, communicate, and align business plans and ensure delivery on strategy and plans. Development and implementation of advice strategies to enhance the positioning and delivery of creditor insurance solutions – ensuring alignment of business objectives within client and channel needs

  • Relationship building and communication - Partner with channel leaders to deliver the business objectives working through sales leaders and advisors to integrate protection into lending discussions. Establishing and maintaining exceptional relationships with partners as an advocate for creditor insurance products, drawing on extensive credibility in the broader insurance market. Proactively manage channel communication, results and reporting for the salesforce; accountable to channel outcomes with respect to creditor sales volume.

  • People Management - Lead, motivate and coach on an on-going basis. Identify gaps and remove obstacles to performance, develop action plans to align with business priorities. Create a positive work environment and role model by championing CIBC’s mission, vision and values. Comply with policies, standards, guidelines and controls by applying the policies and controls fairly and consistently so employees understand what to expect. Hire the right people in the right jobs to align individual capabilities with job requirements and business unit goals.

Who you are

  • You can demonstrate extensive experience in product management, strategic planning, and project management sufficient to identify, develop, and implement approved initiatives (experience preferably in financial services). You have strong analytical, problem-solving skills, excellent communication and presentation skills sufficient to prepare and present material to an executive audience.
