What you’ll be doing
The Senior Manager of Capital Markets Early Talent will work directly with the Director, Capital Markets Early Talent to drive continuous improvement in recruitment operations and lead the rollout of innovative Campus and student engagement initiatives that will position CIBC as an Employer of Choice. It is a pivotal position focused on partnering with internal and external stakeholders to continue to elevate CIBC’s Campus recruitment strategies.
This role is responsible for providing support in the development of the Capital Market’s student recruitment strategies and execution that will enable CIBC to attract and convert a sustainable pipeline of top early talent to meet CIBC Capital Market’s business needs. You will also be responsible for providing recommendations to revise and refresh attraction programs and strategies as needed to increase CIBC’s competitive advantage while also increasing the caliber and retention rates of our junior hires. You will constantly challenge the status quo in a rapidly changing recruitment environment to determine best practices moving forward.

How you’ll succeed
- Leadership and Management – Develop and lead execution of strategies to help CIBC Capital Markets (Canada) meet their recruitment goal of attracting the best and brightest students, with a focus on Diversity & Inclusion. Act as a subject matter expert in order to provide day to day direction, identify operational challenges and to continue to build on an effective business support model.
- Early Talent Attraction & Sourcing Activities – Identify strategies and sourcing channels to assemble a pipeline of top talent for Capital Markets student opportunities. Oversee end-to-end recruitment cycles, processes and framework for student hiring programs, including on-campus sessions, pipeline, referral management, calibrations and offers. Consult with Capital Markets business members and students within the programs to share best practices and provide recommendations for attraction strategies. Provide trusted advice to hiring managers by using diverse interviewing and assessment techniques to validate candidate experience levels.
- Relationship Building – Develop strong business relationships with Executive Sponsors, Campus Chairs/Co-Chairs, HR consultants and other internal partners to ensure the day-today operations are delivered with flawless service; with all key schools and campus candidates to ensure students receive a high caliber work experience and CIBC maintains a strong brand on campus.
- Business Acumen – Keep up-to-date on labour market trends and competitor information, providing business partners with insights and recommendations that will improve the quality of external hires. Assemble deep subject matter expertise in your portfolio to better forecast and affect hiring plans and decisions.
- Student Program Management –.Partner with key target schools and external organizations to facilitate various scholarship and sponsorship opportunities, including participating in recipient selection and managing placement within Capital Markets. Support the planning and execution of annual orientations for Capital Markets summer and graduate hires including engaging with third party vendors and internal partners to provide recommendations on content/structure/format.
