What You’ll Be Doing

As a Sr. Consultant, Cloud Engineering in the CIBC’s Infrastructure Technology you will bring experience specifically in working with Microsoft Azure. You will be responsible for providing technical guidance to ensure stable, reliable production and non-production environments for complex sharing initiatives in compliance with established controls, standards, policies, and procedures as well as act as an advisor to the senior management, utilizing a solid understanding of business dynamics to analyze and protect production and non-production environment integrity and mitigate risks, present and recommend solutions using available resources for complex initiatives with key dependencies. You will provide technical leadership, interpreting complex information and coordinating client, provider, and vendor relationships to meet and manage service expectations, aligned to best practices.

How You’ll Succeed

• Leadership: Provide technical leadership throughout the design, build, configuration, implementation, and maintenance phases for major public and private cloud technologies, as well as automation tools, in a multi-platform environment. Ensure best practices are followed to support scalability, security, and operational efficiency across all platforms.

• Engineering: Design, develop, and test emerging cloud-based software solutions. Provide automation expertise within the core DevOps automation tool chain and orchestration expertise for provisioning infrastructure services and resources in public cloud environments. Implement and support both production and non-production cloud platform environments, as well as hosted applications in accordance with established change management policies.

• Collaboration: Partner with senior leaders across the company to make informed recommendations that enhance cloud-related solutions. Assess business needs in relation to available technologies and security considerations, and provide recommendations that are both practical and achievable. Work with the enterprise architecture team to identify requirements and design solutions that support the continuous evolution of cloud-based services.

Who You Are

• You can demonstrate 7+ years' experience in design, implementation and support of Microsoft Azure, including ARM templating, Azure DevOps pipeline implementation for infrastructure-as-code deliveries, and role-based access control (RBAC). In addition, you also have proficiency with Bicep, JSON and PowerShell scripting.

• It is an asset if you have technical knowledge of Windows Server, Linux and Unix operating systems, middleware tiers, Palo Alto Networks firewalls, ExpressRoute and IPsec tunnels, Virtual WAN, web application firewalls (WAF), network security groups (NSG), and other network and security components of Azure.

• You are an Excellent Communicator. You have solid written and oral communication skills and an ability to produce a variety of business documents that demonstrate command of language, clarity of thought and orderliness of presentation as well as express oneself and communicate with others verbally; recognizing that verbal communication is more than just language - it includes tone, style and structure.

• You have ability to manage multiple priorities. Ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups or activities. Effective judgment in prioritizing and time allocation.

• You have decision making and critical thinking skill. You have knowledge of tools and techniques for effective use of a broad range of factors, assumptions, frameworks and perspectives when solving problems.
