CGI UK Careers - Be Part of Our Story

Position Description:

Are you a driver of change with the talent to inspire clients and colleagues? A compelling communicator and a natural motivator, you get the very best from enthusiastic teams of experts whose professional growth you nurture.

CGI was recognised in the Sunday Times Best Places to Work List 2023 and has been named one of the ‘World’s Best Employers’ by Forbes magazine. We offer a competitive salary, excellent pension, private healthcare, plus a share scheme (3.5% + 3.5% matching), which makes you a member not just an employee.

We are looking for an HR Business Partner to join our UK HR team. You will work within one of our key UK Business Units (BU), alongside the HR Lead to form a strategic partnership as their trusted HR adviser.

You’ll enable them to develop, build and lead their organisation through the provision of excellent, commercially driven HR initiatives. You will also be expected to work collaboratively with our Centres of Excellence and other HR teams in other Business Units to deliver a best in Class HR service and supporting organisational change as required. This role would be ideal for someone who is looking to take their next step in their HR career and wants a HR role with variety. Alternatively, you could be a HR specialist or HR Business Partner who would like a more generalist role with increased flexibility.

Must hold or be prepared to undergo National Security Vetting (NSV) Security Check (SC) level.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

In your day to day, you will be the "Go To" HR contact for the Business Unit, providing HR support on a variety of matters. You’ll support the business to drive employee engagement as well as providing coaching for line managers on HR matters. Your remit will expose you to the full suite of HR service activities including; talent management, learning and development, resourcing, recruitment, organisational design, performance management, compensation, retention, mobility, and the full application of CGI HR policies. You will also be heavily involved in stakeholder management and will be a trusted adviser involved in various BU leaderships meetings. At this stage of your career we don’t expect you to be an expert in all of these areas, but as many of them as possible would be nice. We will support your CIPD development and knowledge of HR through internal and external training.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

If you’re proactive and have a ‘can-do’ attitude and enjoy problem solving you’ll thrive in this role. You will also be delivery oriented and results focused, and have the ability to build strong, effective and credible relationships at the senior management level. We operate a matrix environment so experience of this would be an advantage as would experience of working for a large corporate organisation although this is not essential. At an operational level you’ll need to demonstrate the ability to understand and balance business and HR/people agendas in order to achieve business goals. Some ER experience would also be highly desirable.

The nature of the role will mean you’ll need to have excellent and influential communication skills (written, oral and presentation) coupled with the ability to juggle multiple priorities and projects as required. This is an agile environment and you will need to be able to work effectively on your own as well as collaborating with others in the team as appropriate. We are keen to hear from candidates who are looking for the next step up in their HR career or those already in a HRBP role who want a new challenge.
