Sales Executive - Government

We are seeking a highly motivated Sales Executive with a strong focus on government and public sector sales to drive net-new revenue working out of our Ottawa, ON, office. This role owns the full sales cycle from prospecting and navigating government procurement processes to closing complex deals. It is a true hunter position, ideal for someone who thrives on outbound activity, builds pipeline with urgency and persistence, and has a proven ability to convert public sector opportunities into revenue.
What you will do
- Own and close new customer opportunities, with a focus on government and public sector accounts
- Generate pipeline through outbound prospecting, referrals, events, and strategic networking
- Lead the full sales cycle from discovery through RFI/RFP, proposal development, negotiation, and contract award
- Develop and execute territory plans focused on new logo acquisition, contract vehicles, and long-term public sector growth
- Run in-depth discovery conversations to uncover customer needs and align solutions
- Deliver compelling presentations and formal proposals that articulate Cerio’s value, ROI, and alignment to government evaluation criteria
- Manage complex sales processes, including procurement protocols, multi-stakeholder buying committees, and regulated negotiations
- Forecast revenue accurately, accounting for government budget cycles and approval timelines, and maintain pipeline visibility within the CRM
What you bring
- Proven success closing new business and consistently meeting or exceeding revenue targets
- Experience selling complex or emerging technology markets (Composable Disaggregated Infrastructure or Server, Data Center environments preferred) into Federal/Provincial Government
- Strong executive presence, negotiation skills, and deal discipline
- Entrepreneurial mindset with comfort operating independently in a growth-stage company
- Proficiency with CRM tools and sales forecasting
- Willingness and ability to travel to customer sites across Canada and/or the U.S.
Total Rewards
This role offers a competitive compensation package consisting of a base salary plus performance-based sales incentives, a comprehensive health benefits package, and time-off programs. For candidates hired in Ontario, the base salary range for this role is $120,000–$170,000, in addition to a sales incentive plan. Compensation may vary based on experience, skills, full total compensation package offered, market benchmarks, and internal equity considerations.
