In this role (remote-first), you will report to the Director of Information Systems Security. This position is ideal for new graduates of InfoSec programs or IT professionals looking to transition into a security role.
What You’ll Do
- Triaging and escalating alerts from various security systems and appliances
- Vulnerability, risk and compliance management activities
- Creating and updating system documentation, training materials, policies and procedures
- Responding to security inquiries from employees, auditors, customers, and prospects
- Designing creative, secure solutions to difficult problems and engaging in new and existing security projects
- Implement and maintain key security applications
- Be a key person in supporting cross functional teams and guiding them in implementing security processes
- Ensure that we are meeting all compliance goals
Who We’re Looking For
- Strong technical background in either engineering or similar field.
- Foundational knowledge of the principals and processes surrounding information security
- Strong working knowledge of popular operating systems (Windows, Linux, Mac OS) and networking protocols (TLS, DHCP, DNS, etc.)
- Operational and security knowledge of Microsoft Azure
- Direct experience with core security technologies such as security information and event management (SIEM) systems, endpoint detection and response (EDR) and anti-virus solutions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical and research skills
- Eligibility to receive SECRET II clearance from the Government of Canada
- Ability to work on-call or off-hours as required
- Graduate of recognized college or university or equivalent work experience
Assets (Nice to Have)
- Understanding of various compliance standards ISO 270001, SOC, PCI-DSS, and HIPAA
- Ability to script in Bash, PowerShell or Python
- Familiar with NIST 800-61 and experience participating in incident response activities
