Job Description / Duties
Under the direction of the Chief of Police, the Deputy Chief will be responsible for leading the development, implementation, and communication of policing and operational support strategies necessary to promote positive outcomes in community safety and well-being. The Deputy Chief will be responsible for implementing the goals and priorities established by the Chief of Police as part of the strategic planning process.
The Deputy Chief will contribute to the ongoing success of the organization by playing a key role in delivering a superior customer service experience and by pursuing excellence in community engagement, partnerships, planning, and performance measurement.
Qualifications / Required Skills
Significant experience within a Canadian police service, with demonstrated career progression. A proven ability to manage complex operations and make sound decisions. An excellent understanding of contemporary public safety issues. In-depth knowledge of the New Brunswick Police Act and professional standards. The ability to work in an environment involving multiple partners and political considerations.
