Position Overview
The Production Technician provides technical support to production through product testing, troubleshooting, firmware loading, calibration, and equipment maintenance. This role supports the manufacture and testing of CRPA antenna products, working closely with Production and Engineering teams to ensure products meet quality and performance standards. The role is hands-on and suited to someone who enjoys electronics, problem-solving, and working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Test products to ensure compliance to published specifications
- Load firmware and test Smart Antenna product line
- Calibrate and maintain test and production equipment
- Tune ceramic patches as required for products
- Triage and perform first-level debugging of failed products
- Assemble electro-mechanical components by following instructions and drawings
- Use tools such as soldering irons, pliers, power screwdrivers, and ultrasonic welders
- Support production and engineering teams during new product introduction and testing
- Work safely and efficiently under the guidance of the Production Floor Manager
- Assist with general production tasks such as packing products and handling materials when required
- Other duties as required within the context of the role
Qualifications
- Diploma in Electronics Engineering Technician, Electrical Engineering Technology, or related field
- Basic RF knowledge and use of Vector Network Analyzers would be a strong asset,
- Familiarity with ISO9001 and IPC standards for PCBA’s
- Some experience with SMT soldering (Surface Mount Technology) and rework processes or a strong interest in learning.
- Comfortable using assembly tools and working with small components.
- Ability to read and follow schematics and instructions carefully.
- A strong focus on safety and quality.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- A team player with good communication skills.
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
Additional Requirements
- Must be eligible for registration under Canada’s Controlled Goods Program
