Position Overview
We are seeking an organized and analytical student to join our team as an Events Assistant, supporting corporate tradeshows with a focus on marketing operations and execution. This role is designed for a current student looking to gain hands-on experience in how events contribute to demand generation, data management, and operational efficiency across marketing and sales teams.
Responsibilities
- Support the planning and execution of corporate tradeshows from a marketing operations perspective
- Maintain event timelines, project plans, budgets, and documentation
- Coordinate logistics including booth materials, shipping, vendor schedules, and on-site requirements
- Prepare and manage marketing assets such as signage, collateral, swag, and digital event tools
- Support lead capture setup, testing, and on-site execution (badge scanning, forms, integrations)
- Assist with CRM and marketing automation processes related to events (imports, tagging, campaign setup)
- Support post-event reporting, data cleanup, and performance analysis
- Collaborate with marketing, sales, and external vendors to ensure smooth event execution
- Provide general administrative and operational support to the marketing team
- Other tasks as required according to the needs of the digital marketing team
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in events, marketing, business, or a related field
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Comfortable working with data, spreadsheets, and systems
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment
- Willingness to travel within Ottawa as required by tradeshow schedules
- Familiarity with tools such as CRM platforms, marketing automation, or event software is an asset (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, Marketo, Cvent)
Additional Requirements
- The ability to obtain reliability security clearance
Compensation
$21.00 – $23.00/hour
