Position Overview
Calian is seeking a Senior Project Planner (Infrastructure) to assist our client with the facilitation of their project.
Responsibilities
Will perform tasks in support of the Strategic Tanker Transport Capability Project. These tasks may include, but are not limited to the following:
- Planning Advice. Must assist by providing DC Infra planning advice for senior DND staff and producing DC Infra planning documents of strategic value to the Project.
- Infrastructure Project Submission Coordination. Must provide timely and value-added inputs to PMO staff.
- Demonstrate Professional and Personal Abilities in the course of daily staff work.
- Administrative Tasks: As required or directed.
Qualifications
- Have experience in preparing at least 2 of the following 3 project document types for submission and approval. These documents must have been developed in the context of a Capital Asset Acquisition Project (long-term, high-value (greater than $500M) investment project with a purpose to build upon, add to, or improve a capital asset)
- Have at least one (1) example of work performed or formal education completed that clearly demonstrates knowledge* in two (2) of the following three (3) areas:
a. Has at least forty-eight (48) cumulative months of experience in the last seventy-two (72) months providing strategic advice related to aircraft facility accommodation in relation to decision criteria of scope, schedule adherence, risk and cost;
b. has at least thirty-six (36) cumulative months of experience in the last Seventy-two (72) months of infrastructure (construction) experience, for example: “As a project manager (PM), activities in the last Seventy-two (72) months developing Statement of Operational Requirement (Infrastructure) in support of aircraft capability project(s)”
c. has at least twenty-four (24) cumulative months of experience in the last Seventy-two (72) months contributing to the development and ongoing review of infrastructure project risk assessments, including but not limited to aspects involving physical security or threat risk assessments.
- Have demonstrated experience within the last ten (10) years with each of the following: Justification details should include the following:
-preparing project planning documentation on two (2) capital asset acquisition projects valued over $500M or four (4) asset acquisition / infrastructure projects valued over $50M, or any combination of the above.
-Project integration (i.e. coordination and liaison with affected project stakeholders) as it relates to development and planning of project infrastructure scope elements.
- Have four (4) years demonstrated experience within the last ten (10) years developing project planning documentation to support Capital Asset Acquisition projects contributing to the following documents:
-Business Case Analysis (Infrastructure)
-Statement of Operational Requirements (Infrastructure)
-Real Property Functional Space Programs
-Project Management / Project Planning Documents (e.g. Scope, Schedule, Cost, Risk, Quality, Performance)
- Have a minimum of three (3) years of demonstrated work experience in the past ten (10) developing briefing packages to senior management. Senior management is defined as Director level and above on at least two (2) of the following areas:
-Area 1: Infrastructure Site Selection
-Area 2: Infrastructure Project Development & Design
-Area 3: Project Management activities, principles (e.g. Scope, Schedule, Cost, Risk, Quality, Performance) in an infrastructure portfolio project valued over $1B.

- Must be able to obtain a Government Security Clearance at the Secret level.
