Position Overview
The SAP Functional Analyst (SD) is responsible for supporting and optimizing the Sales and Distribution module within SAP. This role focuses on supporting the SAP SD module by configuring processes, analyzing business requirements, and ensuring seamless integration with other modules such as Finance (FI), Production Planning (PP) and Materials Management (MM). The analyst will work closely with business stakeholders to deliver efficient solutions for order-to-cash processes, pricing, customer billing, and shipping.
Responsibilities
Functional SAP SD
- Perform hands-on configuration and support of SAP Sales and Distribution (SD) processes, including pricing, order management, delivery, billing, and credit management.
- Develop and review functional specifications for enhancements, custom developments, and integrations.
- Collaborate with ABAP developers to translate functional specifications into technical solutions.
Collaboration
- Ensure seamless integration of SD with FI/CO, PP, MM, PS and other SAP modules for end-to-end business processes.
- Participate in system and integration testing, defect resolution, and quality assurance activities.
- Conduct business process demos, facilitate user acceptance testing (UAT), and deliver knowledge transfer sessions.
Delivery & Support
- Provide production support of day-to-day operations of SAP systems in relation to the SD module
- Complete system confirmation and prepare associated detailed test plans, test cases, and scenarios for functional and integration testing.
- Contribute to project initiatives including documentation, training materials, and process improvement initiatives.
Continuous Improvement
- Work with both users and SAP team to identify opportunities to optimize SD functionality and processes
Ensure that the above duties and responsibilities are performed following the principles and intent of Change Management as described in policy IS-0012 Change Management.
Qualifications
Degree/Diploma in Computer Science/Management Information Systems, Business or related field
- Degree/Diploma in Computer Science/Management Information Systems, Business or related field
- Minimum of 5 years’ work experience in an SAP Analyst role or related consulting role
- Strong knowledge of SAP SD module; familiarity with FI/CO and MM highly desirable.
- Understanding of integration points between SAP modules (FI/CO, SD, MM, PS, HR).
- Excellent analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment; strong time management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills as demonstrated by the ability to produce clearly written, well-organized documentation
- Self-motivated and able to work effectively both independently as well as in a team environment
Strong time management skills demonstrated by the ability to establish priorities and plan, develop, coordinate and monitor own work plan and those collaborating on the execution of projects
