Position Overview
Calian ITCS is currently seeking a Senior IT Security Design Specialist for an upcoming opportunity with our client to perform the following duties:
Responsibilities
- Government of Canada Secret Infrastructure (GCSI) is a Shared Services Canada (SSC) managed service security solution for varying security domains designated, classified and cross domain solutions although the core of the system operates at the Secret level. Technologies include thin client architecture, cross domain access, secure desktop delivery, virtualization, cross domain information brokering and Platform-as-a-Services for the Government of Canada (GC). The technologies and architectures are based on holistic criteria for deployment on an enterprise scale, for example IT systems conforming to Government of Canada Security Doctrine, SSC corporate processes and both the security assessment and authorization and service life cycle management frameworks.
The GCSI Classified Enterprise Foundational Services within Connectivity and Security Services Branch (CSSB) branch of SSC requires a Cross Domain Solution Specialist resource to assist on the onboarding of FINTRAC classified services to the success of the FINTRAC Evolution Project.
The following on-site tasks will be required by the Security Design Specialist:
– Understand and work in an environment that involves Cross Domain Solutions (CDS)- Gather appropriate requirements, and work with various clients and stakeholders for the delivery of Cross Domain Solutions (CDS). – Troubleshoot issues on existing infrastructure, migrations, upgrades, evergreening, net new installations, cabling, etc… – Training of existing full-time resources for regular use, maintenance, and integration of the overall solution.- Review standard operating procedures, and coordinate work in relation to writing, maintaining, and enhancing documentation. – Design, implement, and provide recommendations of overall security design solutions on relevant Government of Canada projects. – Review, and deliver high level architectural designs. – Perform engineering operations, and complete implementations of Government of Canada information security solutions that are in line with CSEC ITSG-33 service security standards, as well as the Security Assessment and Authorization (SA&A) requirements.- Inventory, license, install, troubleshoot, and document IT infrastructure – Prepare implementation plans / build documents for Cross Domain Solutions- Follow ITSM practices, review standard operating procedures, and complete work in relation to writing, maintaining, and enhancing documentation.- Attend regular meetings, plan, coordinate, assess and track work activities / incidents.- Provide support, assistance, and recommendations to other team members relating to but not limited to Cross Domain Solutions.- Participate as a member on projects in discussions with colleagues, clients, technical advisors, managers and suppliers in order to explain or resolve technical issues.- Willing to work at client site in NCR
Qualifications
- Clearance: Top Secret (mandatory)
- Controlled Goods Certified (mandatory)
- Language: English
- 10 years’ relevant experience in IT Security
- 5+ years’ direct experience building, deploying, configuring, supporting and troubleshooting enterprise class Server and storage systems:
- 5+ years’ project experience building, deploying, configuring, supporting and troubleshooting the following technologies:
- 5+ years’ experience building, deploying, configuring, supporting and troubleshooting the following technologies in a virtualized High Availability Environment:
- 5+ years’ experience developing and implementing architecture for PCoIP Zero Client environments.
- 5+ years’ experience building, deploying, and configuring, supporting and troubleshooting:
- 5+ years’ experience performing Windows/Linux Operating System log analysis/reporting.
