Position Overview
The Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for ensuring that all products, processes, and systems meet the highest standards of quality and compliance in accordance with ISO 9001:2015 requirements. This role drives the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the company’s Quality Management System (QMS), supporting operational excellence and customer satisfaction across the organization.
The successful candidate will establish and maintain quality programs, perform audits, monitor key performance metrics, and lead root cause and corrective action activities. This position requires close collaboration with engineering, production, supply chain, and management to ensure that all incoming materials, in-process assemblies, and finished products conform to established specifications and customer requirements.
Responsibilities
- Maintain ISO 9001-2015 Quality systems and associated reporting metrics.
- Ensure compliance and accountability for test strategies, planning, execution, and provisioning of Quality Programs and Systems.
- Ensure parts received from suppliers upon arrival conform to engineering drawings.
- Verify completed assemblies comply with engineering drawings.
- Maintains product quality throughout production by enforcing quality assurance policies and procedures.
- Establish and drive strategic and tactical Quality Assurance initiatives and plans.
- Implement and maintain an operating model for continuous improvement and integration of quality management across the business.
- Establishes quality and reliability standards by studying product and consumer requirements with other members of management and with production operators, technicians, and engineers.
- Manage quality processes using a structured risk management approach.
- Track, report, benchmark and trend data; conduct root cause and other analysis, utilizing results to reduce incidents; establish standard uniform metrics and communicate results to the General Manager.
- Provide leadership to ensure that Quality audits are conducted, and any corrective actions are effectively closed.
- Generate and update quality assurance Manuals & Procedures as needed.
- Prepare product and process quality reports.
- Ensuring the overall effectiveness of the established Quality Systems.
- Other duties as required within the context of the role.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Technical Diploma or Engineering Degree and/or 3-5 years work experience in a Quality Assurance position demonstrating skills and duties required above.
- Knowledge and training in ISO 9001-2015
- Lead Auditor certification is an asset.
- ISO 9001-2015 implementation and program maintenance experience is an asset.
- Bilingual is an asset
