Position Overview

Intermediate Software Developers contribute to designing, programming, testing, and maintaining product software applications and systems through the entire software development lifecycle. They are expected to collaborate with the Quality Assurance and Customer Support teams to ensure that software applications meet the business’ requirements and project deadlines and perform as expected by customers. Intermediate Software Developers are expected to obtain intermediate level knowledge of software systems to contribute to future system design considerations and implementations.

Responsibilities

  • Work in tandem with the Software Manager and Software Developer(s) and present updates about the status of the software.
  • Design and program front-end, back-end, and data storage systems architecture.
  • Write well-designed, performant code to ensure workability and stability of software systems.
  • Maintain the security of the systems to protect customer sensitive data.
  • Analyze the requirements of the user and creating software to suit their needs.
  • Perform peer source code reviews
  • Troubleshoot and debug software problems.
  • Execute full software development life cycle following the Agile methodologies.
  • Deployment of new developments to production software applications
  • Resolve escalated customer issues from the Customer Support Team
  • On-call rotation monitoring for system outages to ensure maximum system uptime
  • Document development processes and system changes
  • Actively participate in the compliance of the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Assurance System.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science or related field.
  • 5+ years experience in Software Development on large-scale, mission-critical applications
  • Strong technical skill and experience with the following programming languages: Java (or equivalent), Typescript/JavaScript, Python, SQL, and shell script.
  • Experience in Agile software development environments.
  • Strong knowledge of software development tools and processes including source code version control.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • RabbitMQ or similar message broker experience is an asset.
  • Mobile app development in React Native is an asset.
  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems is an asset
  • Familiarity with Jira, Bitbucket, Google Cloud Platform, Kubernetes (K8s), and Docker is an asset
