Position Overview

Calian is building a talent pool for upcoming full-time opportunities as Avionics Systems Technicians (AVS Tech) to support maintenance and operations in aviation and defense environments. These roles are ideal for individuals with Transport Canada-recognized training in avionics who are looking to develop hands-on experience in structured, safety-driven settings under licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineers (AME-E).

Responsibilities

  • Assist in installing, inspecting, testing, and repairing aircraft electronic systems (e.g., communication, navigation, flight control).
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose faults in wiring, components, and onboard avionics systems.
  • Perform routine maintenance checks and system upgrades as per regulatory standards.
  • Document all maintenance activities and ensure compliance with aviation safety regulations.
  • Work under the supervision of licensed AME-E personnel in hangar or flight line environments.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma and/or diploma or certificate in AME – Avionics or Avionics Maintenance Technician, approved by Transport Canada.
  • Basic understanding of aircraft electronic systems, wiring diagrams, and testing equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and technical troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to interpret technical manuals and follow safety and regulatory procedures.

  • Recent or upcoming graduates from college or aviation maintenance programs
  • Interested in structured roles with training and advancement potential
  • Open to relocation or working across different regions in Canada
  • Canadian citizens or permanent residents
