Position Overview
At Calian, we empower the world to communicate, innovate, learn, and lead safe and healthy lives. As we continue to grow, we’re looking for an experienced, innovative Senior Director of HR Operations to help strengthen and scale our HR infrastructure globally.
This role is a key leadership position focused on building efficient systems, improving global HR processes, and supporting a consistent and high-quality employee experience across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement HR operational plans that support Calian’s business goals and day-to-day needs.
- Oversee core HR systems and processes, including payroll, benefits, and employee data management.
- Ensure compliance with employment laws and internal policies across all regions.
- Maintain and update HR policies to reflect best practices and support a consistent employee experience.
- Support the evolution of our global HR service model by improving how we manage employee lifecycle processes.
- Help shape and maintain programs for global mobility, immigration, and relocation in line with our talent needs.
- Promote consistency and efficiency in HR service delivery across locations.
- Manage and develop a capable HR Operations team, providing guidance, coaching, and support.
- Build strong working relationships across departments and levels of the organization.
- Foster a culture of trust, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee the HR operations budget and ensure resources are used effectively.
- Use data and insights to guide decisions, improve processes, and measure outcomes.
Qualifications
- Proven success leading HR operations in a scaling, complex organization.
- Deep expertise in employee relations, payroll, benefits, compliance, and HR systems.
- Experience managing large, distributed teams and global HR functions.
- Proven ability to lead through change and manage global HR functions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- ERP experience (SAP preferred); bilingualism is an asset.
- Education: Bachelors in HR Management or related field; MBA or MS in HR preferred.
