Position Overview
The Senior Software Team Lead position in our Space division is an exciting opportunity to join a growing Canadian-based tech organization with 100+ software developers. You will lead a team of developers to provide innovative solutions to the world’s leading satellite operators. You will share a vision, work with the team to develop strategies and set priorities, to guide the team to successful project completion. As a people manager, you will foster psychological safety and conduct regular 1:1s.

This position can be 100% remote.
Responsibilities
• Lead the people on a software project team
• Work with the team to define a shared vision and a strategy to achieve success on assigned and upcoming projects
• Monitor team effectiveness, making sure issues that would block progress are being dealt with. Help the team work through technical challenges
• Foster psychological safety
• Accurately report on progress and work with Project Managers to ensure that projects are on schedule and budget
• Depending on team size, work as a developer on the team
• Assist in recruiting, training, and staff performance management
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science degree combined with an Electrical Engineering/Engineering Physics degree or software related technology diploma preferred
• 7 years of coding experience in Java, C++, or equivalent language
• 2 years of experience leading software development teams
• Experience with telecommunications or related industries is an asset
