Position Overview
As the Manager, Enterprise Applications, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, efficiency, and integrity of Calian’s business applications—excluding SAP. Reporting to the Senior Director, Enterprise Applications, you will lead the selection, integration, and ongoing management of enterprise applications across our business units and Corporate Services departments. This role also includes maintaining strong vendor relationships and optimizing application performance to meet business needs. The position offers visibility across the organization and the opportunity to work with emerging technologies, including AI, shaping the future of the enterprise application landscape.
Responsibilities
- Support the overall mandate of the Information Systems (IS) division, ensuring business applications align with organizational goals.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of enterprise-level business applications (e.g., CRM, corporate intranet, SharePoint, custom Calian applications) and manage their full lifecycle, from selection to upgrades and ongoing maintenance.
- Ensure the reliability, security, and performance of all business applications while driving continuous improvement and adoption.
- Partner with business unit leaders and Corporate Services teams to understand their needs and translate them into effective technical solutions.
- Work with internal teams to develop training and testing plans, ensuring smooth adoption and optimal use of applications.
- Manage vendor relationships, including licensing audits, contract negotiations, and performance monitoring to ensure compliance and value delivery.
- Oversee the administration and optimization of Microsoft 365 collaboration tools (Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive), ensuring secure and effective adoption across the organization.
- Provide insights on potential acquisitions, assessing integration challenges, associated costs, and supporting post-acquisition integration strategies.
- Acquire and oversee consulting resources as needed to support business objectives.
- Handle operational tickets and small projects with a transition to vendor management responsibilities over time.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience leading teams responsible for business applications.
- Proven experience in the selection, implementation, and maintenance of business applications, including M365 and third-party tool integrations.
- Strong background in vendor management and contract negotiation.
- Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and project management methodologies.
- Experience supporting web-based SaaS applications and managing M365 support.
- Excellent collaboration, communication, and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage cross-functional teams effectively.
- Strong knowledge of data security and compliance standards.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and skilled at multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable in a dynamic, collaborative environment, where you will be working with diverse stakeholders at all levels.
