Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Cybersecurity/IT Project Manager to join our organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing complex Cybersecurity & IT projects, managing client relationships and will be responsible for planning projects, overseeing implementation, and providing regular updates to stakeholders. In addition, the project manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of the project lifecycle from project initiation to closure to ensure that the project is delivered on time and within budget.
Responsibilities
The Senior Cybersecurity/IT Project Manager will act as a liaison between clients and internal teams, overseeing the end-to-end delivery of client projects, ensuring clear communication, managing expectations, and addressing any concerns that arise throughout the project lifecycle. Furthermore, Project Managers establish guidelines and manage project planning, resource allocation, financial reporting, and quality control, ensuring that each project is executed in a way that meets the unique cybersecurity needs of the client while delivering measurable results.
The Senior Cybersecurity/IT Project Manager plays a key role in in ensuring the seamless execution and delivery of internal and client-facing projects and will be expected to manage several concurrent Cybersecurity projects including but not limited to the management and deployment of Cloud based technologies (i.e. Ms Azure/Sentinel), application/system migrations, SIEM/IR onboarding, cloud security assessments, IT controls assessments, enterprise risk assessments, threat risk assessments, penetration testing, AD/firewall assessments, red/purple team exercises, support the vCISO roadmap & related operational activities, and other Cybersecurity and IT projects, etc.
Key activities include:
• Develop and maintain project documentation throughout the lifecycle of a project, including project plans, status reports, financial forecasts, and risk/issues management plans
• Develop customer migration/onboarding plans
• Ensure communication to all stakeholders across all levels including engineering, operations, and senior management
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including security operations, development, and business stakeholders to ensure project success
• Identify and manage project risks and ensure that mitigation plans are in place. Responsible for the execution of mitigation plans
• Ensure project deliverables are completed on time and within budget
• Ensure compliance with cybersecurity standards and regulations
• Communicate project status and progress to senior management and stakeholders- both internally and externally
• Mentor and lead project teams, including cybersecurity analysts, engineers, and consultants
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in I.T Management, Information Systems, Cybersecurity or a related field
• 5+ years proven experience in project management
• PMP, or other relevant project management certifications
• CISSP, or other relevant security certifications are an asset.
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity standards and regulations, including NIST, ISO, and PCI-DSS an asset
• Strong understanding of project forecasting, resource utilization strategies, contract management, and financial reporting
• Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira, ConnectWise, MS office suite)
• Background with CRM and financial related software an asset (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks).
• Exceptional analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Strategic Thinking: Ability to align operational processes with broader business objectives.
• Problem-Solving: Proactive approach to identifying challenges and implementing solutions.
• Financial Acumen: Deep understanding of financial principles and reporting standards.
• Leadership: Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and drive team performance.
• Adaptability: Flexibility to navigate evolving project requirements and industry standards.
