Position Overview
Reporting to the Director, Health Services, the Operations Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the successful delivery of clinician services to our customers. This position is responsible for managing service operations, business processes, and improvements, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and maintaining strong client relationships. Expertise in health services management and the ability to drive operational efficiency will contribute to Calian’s continued success.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the end-to-end delivery of clinician services, ensuring adherence to contract delivery parameters and customer expectations.
- Lead, mentor and motivate team of Contract Managers, providing direction on best practice, and fair distribution of workload.
- Monitor service performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions to optimize service delivery processes.
- Conduct regular service reviews with customers to address concerns, gather feedback, and foster strong relationships.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including other Health Services Operations Managers, Recruiting, Billing, Contract Administration, Finance, Human Resources, and Information Services to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Coordinate and delegate tasks to achieve timely and efficient service implementation.
- Foster a collaborative work environment, promoting knowledge sharing and continuous learning among team members.
- Manage and monitor budgets, prepare financial forecasts, and approve expenses.
- Work collaboratively with, Health Services Directors, Health Care SME’s, and the Sales and Growth teams, seeking guidance on clinical best practice and opportunities for growing book of business.
- Travel to customer sites (local, regional and national).
Internal controls must be in place to ensure the Company’s financial information, as presented by the organization, is complete, timely and accurate. Calian’s leadership team has the responsibility to ensure its systems and processes are designed to support the achievement of the company’s overall business objectives.
As a Manager in the Heath Business Unit, you are responsible to ensure:
- You understand and follow Corporate Policies and Procedures, which relate to the system of internal controls. Specifically: Corporate Policies CO-009 Internal Controls, CO-013 Treatment of Concerns, and CO-002 Public Disclosure;
- You understand and follow all Financial Policies and Procedures for the Health Business Unit;
- You understand and follow Calian’s Guide to Ethical Business Practices;
- You communicate as required the above Policies and Procedures to your staff and;
- You disclose to the Health Leadership Team (HLT) all new significant developments in project status and projects in the pipeline immediately as they occur.
Qualifications
- 5-10 years’ experience in professional services-related management, including responsibility for
- operations, financial accountability and/or HR management of professionals
- 3-5 years’ experience managing teams
- Project management experience with small to medium sized projects
- Experience successfully managing multiple and changing priorities
- High level of proficiency with computer-based applications including Microsoft Office tools
The following additional experience is preferred:
- Experience with all levels of government contracts
- Knowledge of the Healthcare sector
- Bilingualism in English and French
- Proven project management experience with the demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Self-motivated and well-organized
- The ability to motivate and organize other members of your team
- Analytical mindset with problem-solving abilities
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills(written and verbal)
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong client and colleague relationships
