Position Overview

Calian is seeking an Intermediate Project Engineer Officer to support the CH146 Griffon helicopter fleet. This role involves providing engineering project support and advice to the CH146 Project and Obsolescence Manager. The successful candidate will help manage the project portfolio to ensure readiness for future operations and deployments of the fleet.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and conduct engineering, technical, and project management activities related to CH146 aircraft systems.
  • Manage design, acquisition, installation, testing, and certification tasks while overseeing the lifecycle management and integrated logistics support of the CH146 Griffon helicopter fleet.
  • Prepare and update key project documentation such as Statements of Work (SoW), Statements of Objectives (SoO), Engineering Change Proposals (ECP), and procurement requests.
  • Provide project management support, including tracking and reporting on project status, risks, problems, and solutions.
  • Support airworthiness certification processes, engineering clearances, and technical investigations.
  • Conduct reviews of technical documentation, materials, and equipment submitted by contractors, government agencies, or internal departments to ensure compliance with standards and technical requirements.
  • Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and forecasts, ensuring project deliverables meet the required scope, standards, and timelines.
  • Collaborate with tactical aviation systems working groups and provide technical assistance for operational and test activities.

Qualifications

  • Must hold a degree from a recognized university in engineering.
  • Experience in the past 5 years, as a project lead or key position in a Project Management Office (PMO) for projects in civilian or military aviation projects, particularly in writing project-related documents such as project schedules, charters, or Statements of Work.
  • Minimum 3 years experience in the past 5 years, in airspace airworthiness regulations (civil or military) enforced in North America, such as DND Technical Airworthiness Manual, Federal Aviation Administration regulations, or Transport Canada regulations.
  • Demonstrated within the past 5 years the ability to develop project management documents such as risk management plans, configuration management plans, Statement of Work, Statement of Requirement, or Statements of Objectives.
  • Demonstrated within the past 5 years the ability to apply military airworthiness regulations such as the DND Technical Airworthiness Manual, P-Series (C-05-005-P12/AM-001 – Engineering Process Manual (EPM)), and DGAEPM AF9000+.
  • Demonstrated within the past 5 years the ability to work on airspace project management documents and must have completed Developing tasks for engineering, and Technical investigations to achieve systems or sub-systems airworthiness certification.
  • Must hold a valid security clearance at the Secret level or be eligible to obtain one.
