Position Overview

We are seeking a self-motivated, highly detailed, team-oriented Product Designer to join our dynamic team. Reporting to the Vice-President, Calian Agriculture, you will be primarily responsible for collaborating with a variety of teams on the development, quality assurance and release of new products and product enhancements. You are the subject matter expert and central contact point for your product line responsible for driving the product direction.

Responsibilities

  • Identifying, developing and implementing solutions for physical and software products
  • Developing detailed software, firmware, and hardware requirements for products
  • Supporting product training and trade shows and providing technical expertise
  • Working with Business Development and Customer Support teams to understand customer needs and feedback, and translating them into product requirements
  • Communicating team progress and bringing any major issues forward to management
  • Developing and maintaining documentation
  • Coordinating product design between different teams to ensure unified product development efforts
  • Providing day to day product support to internal teams

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science or Business, or equivalent experience
  • At least three to five years experience in product management or development
  • Excellent problem-solving and trouble shooting skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Able to multitask and prioritize work regularly
  • Independently motivated, taking on tasks and duties without immediate direction
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Technically proficient with MS Office Suite and design software

Additional Requirements

  • Experience or background in agriculture
  • 3D Design and modelling experience
  • Graphic design experience
  • Experience in product ownership and agile development process
  • Hand-on experience designing products or projects
