About This Role

Join our Civil Aviation Finance division in Burgess Hill, West Sussex as Finance Business Partner. In this role you will be working across our Business and Helicopter Aviation Training Centres in the UK, Norway, Sweden and Austria (Vienna opening in early 2025).

The role we are offering you

The Finance Business Partner owns and analyses financial statements while working closely with the business and Finance leadership to ensure accuracy. This position owns and distributes regular reporting to the business and Finance. In this role you will support in implementing best practices, streamlining processes, enabling efficient workflow to ensure timely reporting.

Key responsibilities of the role:

  • P&L, Balance Sheet & Cash flow forecast, review and report any related variances for all business units within scope.

  • Partner with Finance leadership to ensure monthly financial reports comply with IFRS.

  • Review monthly, quarterly and annual financial information including execution of the overall financial close process.

  • Lead monthly forecasting and annual budgeting process for P&L and Balance Sheet explaining major variances.

  • Proactively anticipate business partner questions when new or changing business trends are identified.

  • Lead meetings with operations to discuss financial performance, indicate key business drivers, and suggest business improvement.

  • Drive process improvement and proactively identify cost reduction opportunities.

  • Analyze financial data and maintain financial models to accurately project financial results.

  • Retain industry and company knowledge to enhance variance explanations and financial report.

  • Collaborate with business partners to ensure forecasts and analysis are relevant and any gaps to financial targets are identified.

  • Drive business process troubleshooting and enhancement initiatives (HFM, Oracle, Hyperion) where appropriate.

  • Own ad hoc projects or analysis to enhance financial performance and better understand business drivers.

Our ideal candidate:

  • Is a part- qualified or “finalist” accountant, with a background in finance for a minimum of 5 years.

  • Has experience in producing management accounts and strategic financial planning and analyses. Finance Business Partnering experience is desirable (but not mandatory) to bring to this role.

  • Holds Knowledge of accounting principles, public company financial reporting & practices.

  • Has excellent analytical skills, conceptual thinking, communication, and interpersonal skills

  • Has expert knowledge of Microsoft Applications (Excel, Word, Power Point, Access). Hyperion and Oracle Cloud knowledge is desirable to bring to this role.

Contract details & location

The position offers hybrid working (2 days from home) and is based at our Business Aviation Training Centre in Burgess Hill, West Sussex. We are offering a full-time and permanent contract. The working hours of the role are Monday to Friday, 39 hours a week.
