In this role, the Group Lead Technical Services will be responsible to lead the maintenance team responsible for the training equipment preventive and corrective maintenance at customer site. The incumbent will be responsible to meet “Performance Based Accountability” Key Performance Indicators (KPI) that are directly related to CAE revenues and profits for this contract.

Description
- Coordinate and supervise preventive and corrective maintenance to achieve required availability and reliability KPIs on flight training devices and other training equipment/facilities.
- Supervise a dynamic team of technical staff to ensure achievement of established KPIs.
- Create work schedules and ensure an adequate roster is maintained to support contracted training availability windows.
- Provide staff guidance and leadership to ensure equipment remains at peak performance for internal and external customers.
- Identify and track recurring and potential system problems; collaborate with technical experts and colleagues to develop plans to resolve issues.
- Recommend and develop new procedures for testing, maintenance, and repair activities.
- Ensure dissemination of all technical information within the organization to subordinates.
- Collaborate with co‑workers to share new ideas and lessons learned.
- Assist in recruiting, hiring, and developing staff to help them meet their objectives.
- Prepare and conduct performance reviews.
- Associate’s degree or college degree in a job‑related field.
- 8 to 12 years of relevant experience.
- Thorough understanding of aircraft terminology or simulation devices.
- Ability to interpret schematics and technical documents related to simulators and aviation.
- Superior troubleshooting skills and in‑depth knowledge of operating electronic testing equipment and advanced diagnostic software.
- Fluency in English.
- Experience performing troubleshooting to system level on multiple types of simulators.
- Experience using and interpreting diagnostics for multiple simulator types.
- Above‑basic proficiency in the operation of test equipment.
- Above‑basic skills in soldering and circuit board repair.
- Basic knowledge of PCs and MS Office tools.
- Strong customer support orientation and attention to detail.
- The physical or muscular exertion required for prolonged standing, walking, and lifting or moving objects (weighing as much as 50lbs) and the resulting fatigue brought about by these activities
- Work in sustained sitting, standing, stooping, and squatting positions. Also climbing on ladders and equipment to heights 25 to 30 feet above the floor. Ability to safely move and work on equipment in confined spaces for reasonable periods.
- The physical dexterity required in performing tasks requiring hand/eye coordination and fine motor skills.
- Have the manual dexterity, knowledge, and experience necessary to work safely and effectively with various hand tools.
- Ability to always maintain situational awareness and work safely on and around complex machinery, that is characterized by sudden, and at times violent movement in all 3 axes.
- Ability to work safely in cool interior conditions (temps between 55- and 65-degrees Fahrenheit)
