The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) supports CAE’s mission of making the world safer by aligning employee and business needs within the Civil Aviation groups in Canada. The HRBP acts as a strategic and operational advisor to leaders across an operational business environment experiencing significant transformation.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Serve as the first point of contact for employees for day-to-day HR inquiries.
- Support investigations of low‑complexity employee relations matters by gathering information and documenting findings.
- Provide coaching to leaders and employees on employee relations issues, including team conflicts, performance challenges, and dynamic interpersonal situations.
- Assist leaders in preparing for performance reviews, talent discussions, compensation cycles, and career development conversations.
- Partner with leaders to apply HR programs, policies, and procedures, including compensation, training, talent management, succession planning, and employee relations.
- Contribute to the implementation of HR action plans, programs, and projects aligned with business objectives.
- Identify workforce-related issues (skills development, retention, motivation) and support initiatives that address operational challenges and build leadership capability.
- Participate in the rollout of change‑management plans and proactively influence key stakeholders.
- Provide recommendations and insights to enhance employee engagement, morale, and overall workplace culture.
- Build strong relationships with clients, including SIM Technicians, Instructor Pilots, Business Development professionals, and OEM‑related teams.
- Maintain weekly touchpoints with business leaders and contribute to staff meetings to ensure strong understanding of organizational changes and business priorities.
- Operate effectively in a fast‑paced environment requiring a hands‑on approach and the ability to work autonomously.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field.
- 3–5 years of progressive HR experience, ideally as a Generalist or HRBP.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast‑paced, evolving HR environment.
- Strong interpersonal, communication (English and French), and presentation skills.
- Proven judgment, maturity, tact, diplomacy, and ability to handle sensitive matters with integrity.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to provide internal advisory support to leaders and employees.
- Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with HR Information Systems (HRIS).
- Ability to work autonomously and ramp up quickly.
- Availability to work in a hybrid model (2–3 days onsite).
- Experience supporting operational or technical business groups (e.g., SIM Techs, Instructor Pilots, training centers).
- Experience working in environments undergoing significant organizational change.
- Exposure to multi‑site or multinational business groups, particularly across Canada, the U.S., and South America.
- Prior experience coaching leaders on employee relations, performance issues, and team dynamics.
