Lead Business Analysis – Specialist

Description

As a Lead Business Analysis – Specialist, you will serve as a trusted expert individual contributor guiding the end‑to‑end solution implementation lifecycle within CAE’s aviation crew management domain. You will drive complex business analysis efforts, translate customer needs into actionable system requirements, and directly contribute to the evolution of our next‑generation crew solutions.
You will lead data collection, business process design, and requirements definition for high‑value, mission‑critical initiatives. Through customer engagement, you will identify operational best practices and collaborate with Solution Management to enhance our products and maintain industry alignment.
This role requires close collaboration with developers, architects, solution designers, and customer stakeholders, serving as a strategic liaison across technical and business teams. You will support development by addressing functionality questions, resolving testing issues, preparing customers for deployment, and delivering user training.

Candidates must be legally eligible to work in the United States now and in the future without visa sponsorship.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.

  • Minimum 7 years of related experience.
  • Expertise in Crew Planning, Scheduling, Tracking, Crew Training, and Crew Rules.
  • Hands‑on experience in the Crew Management domain—either within an airline (scheduling, training, tracking) or through end‑to‑end implementation of crew enterprise systems.
  • Strong domain knowledge in airline crew scheduling, flight crew planning, or flight operations required.
  • Knowledge of airline regulatory requirements (flight crew duty and flight period limitations).
  • Advanced software proficiency and strong understanding of client‑server architectures and legacy system integration.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including comfort in C‑level discussions.
  • Ability to facilitate customer‑facing workshops (User Training, Scoping Studies, Interactive Pilots, Customer Validation Testing).
  • Ability to define and map complex airline crew business processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including strong PowerPoint and Excel skills.
  • Ability to write clear, detailed customer requirement documentation with acceptance criteria.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated leadership in an individual‑contributor capacity, including guiding workstreams and mentoring analysts.
  • Experience coaching or developing SMEs and junior team members.
  • Proven ability to build strong customer and cross‑functional partnerships.
  • Experience supporting enterprise aviation software testing, training, and deployment planning.

Physical Requirements

  • Occasionally ascends or descends ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, or poles.
  • Occasionally moves through tight or confined spaces.
  • Constantly remains stationary (sitting or standing).
  • Occasionally moves about to accomplish tasks or transition between work areas.
  • Occasionally lifts or adjusts objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Constantly performs repetitive motions involving wrists, hands, and fingers.
  • Able to travel 5–10%, typically in 5–10‑day segments, with trips potentially lasting up to two weeks.
