Position Overview
Within CAE Defense & Security, the Project Manager plays a pivotal role ensuring the successful delivery of strategic projects through standardized project management practices. This role supports organizational excellence by driving project execution, promoting best practices, and contributing to continuous improvement across project portfolios.
In this role, the Project Manager will be expected to:
Manage the execution of multiple concurrent projects
Manage the financial and operational resources necessary to meet contractual obligations of the project
Develop and execute the project management plan for low-medium complexity projects
Govern and run internal steering committees and participate in other status meetings / governance reviews
Establish and foster strategic connections between ITB, technology teams, and business stakeholders to ensure alignment of technical solutions with business requirements and objectives.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Direct multiple projects, simultaneously involving a variety of resourcing, scheduling, subcontracting and other project management activities
Develop procedures and guidelines for executing project management activities
Monitor project progress, manage risks, and implement mitigation strategies
Provide inputs of subcontract terms and agreements (statements of work, collaborative research agreements, donations agreements, etc.)
Resolve project work/schedule issues by reprioritizing activities
Act as primary liaison with suppliers on project matters during project execution
Support technical, cost, intellectual property and schedule aspects of project concepts
Implement project work breakdown structure
Coordinate technical activities of project
Identify opportunities for process optimization and contribute to lessons learned and best practice
Support the implementation and continuous improvement of project management standards and templates
Required Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, project management, commerce or equivalent
PMP certification or equivalent accreditation
Minimum of 5 to 7 years of related project management experience
Fluency in both French and English
Ability to travel occasionally within Canada
Ability to hold a Canadian Security Clearance (Level II - SECRET) and Controlled Good Clearance
Eligibility to work in Canada either as a Canadian Citizen, a Permanent Resident or with a valid Work Permit
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in defence and public safety
Project Experience with Lean/Agile methodology
Domain knowledge of the Canadian Armed Forces
