Candidate Responsibilities:
The Simulator Technician is responsible to the Maintenance Manager (or delegate) to perform all preventative and corrective maintenance on training devices under support in a safe and effective manner, ensuring maximum successful training events can be achieved by the end user. They are also responsible for supply support within the maintenance services including stock takes, parts ordering, shipping and receiving of parts, and any other supply support task as directed.
Critical responsibilities:
Maintenance:
Assist Senior Simulator technician with simulator fault troubleshooting, and component replacement/repair
Carry out all maintenance tasks effectively as directed by Senior Simulation Technician or Maintenance Manager
Carry out all maintenance tasks to meet internal and external compliance requirements
Assist Senior Simulation Technicians with investigations supporting site-based engineering development needs
Supply Support:
• Carry out all supply support activities as directed by Senior Simulation Technician or Maintenance Manager
• Carry out stock takes, parts handling, parts ordering and receiving
• Carry out shipping and handling of parts IAW export control and security requirements
Key Competencies:
- Strong technical knowledge and understanding, with a preference for experience in electronic and/or digital technologies
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, written and verbal
• Dedication and commitment to meet customer requirements and expectations
• High degree of personal integrity, accountability, ownership and focus
• Ability to support local team to contribute to developing solutions to complex issues where broad, long range and organization-wide vision is necessary
• Readily accepting of change; adapts and adjusts accordingly

As the New Zealand Ministry of Defense is a major client, you must be eligible for SECRET (SV) level Defense security clearance, and preferably already hold a current SECRET (SV) clearance.
