About This Role
As an active member of the HR team who supports Australia, New Zealand, Brunei, Singapore, Japan and India. In this role you will be taking ownership and responsibility of engaging with key stakeholders of one of our program delivery teams, providing well rounded, pragmatic, end to end HR solutions. As a HR Business Partner you will act as a trusted advisor and the ‘go-to’ person for all HR queries for the program of work, as well as providing support to the wider HR team.
This role will be located in our Head Office in Homebush, NSW. Travel to some of our defence sites will be required for this role.
The role we are offering you
- Collaborate with and support key departments other D&S entities outside of Australia per your client group
- Work closely with the Head of HR, Executive team, Senior leaders and key members of the program team on people related matters
- Be actively involved in all end to end employee lifecycles , including Payroll, Talent Acquisition, onboarding, training, performance management, remunerations and benefits, global mobility and separation.
- Ensure compliance with employment legislation, policies, procedures and regulations.
- Drive continuous improvement in the employee experience in process, policies and people focused initiatives
- First point of call for employee related queries for given departments
- Ownership of key programs/projects within the HR People Plan
- Be part of the local IPAC team as well as the global HR team based in Canada, EMEA
Our ideal candidate has:
- Passion to work in a Defence environment with blend of Corporate
- Demonstrated experience in all aspects of HR
- Project management experience is ideal
- Strong communication and stakeholder experience
- Demonstrated experience and understanding in the interpretation of employment legislation in Australia
- Strong Microsoft Office, particularly excel, skills
- Experience in working in a complex matrix organisation and/or global company experience
- Hold a valid drivers licence

Security requirements
As the Australian Department of Defence is a major client, you must be eligible for SECRET (NV1) level Defence security clearance, and preferably already hold a current SECRET (NV1) clearance.
