The Deputy Senior Maintenance Manager (DSMM) supports the Senior Maintenance Manager (SMM) in overseeing all airworthiness-related activities within the FAcT Maintenance organization. The DSMM will be instrumental in developing the MPM for the FAcT requirements and ensuring compliance with airworthiness standards, managing training programs, and maintaining high standards of maintenance practices. This role also involves acting as a liaison between the SMM and maintenance personnel, ensuring smooth operations and continuous improvement.
The role we are offering you:
- Support the SMM with the interpretation of airworthiness standards and processes as they apply to the maintenance organization and ensure that maintenance procedures comply with the Maintenance Process Manual (MPM) and airworthiness standards.
- Identify and report any discrepancies or non-compliance issues to the SMM and SDE and work with them towards a solution.
- Assist in developing, reviewing, and approving maintenance procedures that affect the airworthiness of FAcT aircraft fleets, including the draft of a new MPM and associated processes and procedures to align with FAcT requirements.
- Assist the Technical Training Coordinator (TTC) in reviewing and coordinating training requirements for maintenance personnel.
- Assist in the development of logbooks and training systems as required.
- Input requirements into the Learning Management System and ensure that all training has been approved and certified to airworthiness standards.
- Act as the Senior Maintenance Manger when they are unavailable to perform their duties
- Maintain a relationship with all departments within NFTC and the FAcT program to ensure airworthiness standards are understood and followed
Our ideal candidate has:
- Aircraft Maintenance Engineer or Aviation Technician Accreditation
- Extensive Technician Expertise (12+ years)
- Demonstrated knowledge of Quality Management Systems and processes
- Demonstrated understanding of Airworthiness Rules and Standards
- Functional knowledge of computer operations, applications, word processing and spreadsheets including the EFMS system (Maintenix)
- Understanding of OEM/Engineering publications
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality, impartiality, and work under pressure.
- High attention to detail
- Project Management is an asset
As a condition of employment, candidate must successfully pass a security evaluation per the requirements of the Controlled Goods Directorate of Canada and to CAE being able to obtain all necessary re-transfer authorization in compliance with US ITAR regulations.
