About This Role
This position is exclusively open to students pursuing a university degree.
Internship dates: September 2nd to December 19th 2025
The successful candidate will also receive the $6,000 CILA Award, which promotes female-identified students in STEM programs to encourage diversity and develop future industry leaders.
In 2024, the CILA internship program will reward up to ten women enrolled in STEM programs at universities and colleges across Canada with a fully paid internship and executive mentoring. In addition, winners will receive a one-time $6,000* (after-tax) scholarship and the opportunity to secure full-time employment upon successful completion of their program. During the paid internship, each laureate will participate in cross-company learning activities and exciting project challenges to meet their academic requirements and develop their skills as the next generation of STEM talent. The role we are offering you:
By joining our team, you will have the opportunity to perform software development tasks on small to medium sized projects.
Project work may span the entire software engineering discipline. Detailed activities may include requirements analysis, documentation, as well as designing, coding, debugging, and testing new and existing software in C# or other languages (such as PowerShell, SQL, Java)
Our ideal candidate has:
A base understanding of Object-Oriented programing;
Experience with C#, Java and/or SQL is advantageous.
Self motivated, able to work autonomously.
Enjoys working in small teams.
A strong work ethic, and is interested in learning new skills.
Preferred Education
Enrolled in a STEM program pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, Computer Science, or Mathematics, preferably in their 3rd or 4th year.
Additional Details
Location of the internship is in the CAE Halifax office.
Internship will be carried out in hybrid mode.
The following additional requirements also apply:
*All applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada and must meet the requirements of the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP). All hires will be required to complete, sign and return the Controlled Goods Program form within a week of its transmittal. They must also provide a copy of their passport or birth certificate. All students with a work permit must provide a copy of it and a police clearance certificate from the country or countries where they have resided in the past five years.
*Please take note that if you are on a student, work or international student permit, the delays for the security background check take minimum 16 weeks.
