Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Reporting directly to the Senior Manager of Product Sustainment, the Portfolio Leader has overall responsibility for the portfolio projects' delivery (cost, schedule, scope and quality)
  • Manage the Execution Team(Project Managers), guided by broad organizational strategic objectives and project management methodology
  • Manage the Customer Experience Leader team(CEL) that supports all Defense and Security (Military) CAE client through the life of their devices
  • Oversee achievement of Key Performance Indicator and prepare reporting material
  • Manage, influence, and develop the Project Managers and Customer Experience Leaders to ensure that the projects are successfully completed within constraints and that the Customer are being cared for to the height of CAE’s reputation
  • Responsible for preparing financial review and recuring project status report
  • Act as mentor, nurture growth of team members
  • Occasionally requested to lead budget and forecast planning meeting
  • Responsible and accountable for the projects Portfolio P&L
  • Oversee the Customer Experience Leaders’ relation with their respective customer and provide guidance
  • Implement the use of project management best practices and apply company policies and processes
  • Act as prime customer contact for negotiations, issue, escalation, etc.
  • Participate in the lead to award process
  • Manage relationships, communications and negotiations with customers and stakeholders (internal/external) as required

Requirements

  • University undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Sciences or a related field of study
  • PMP certification or equivalent accreditation is required
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management
  • 10+ years of relevant experience
  • Strong understanding of financial concepts
  • Strong leadership soft skill to navigate within a Matrix Type Organisation
  • Proven track record of managing a team
  • Knowledge of CAE technical and operational practices, procedures and products an asset
  • Ability to travel to customer Site as needed
  • Bilingualism (French and English) is required
  • Experience collaborating with a multitude of clients
  • Be able to hold a Canadian Security Clearance & Controlled Good Clearance
  • Eligibility to work in Canada either as a Canadian Citizen, a Permanent Resident or with a valid Work Permit
