Position Overview:
As our Senior Manager Operations Finance, you will be responsible for the strategic oversight of financial operations across the business unit within the Commercial Operations Group. This role encompasses comprehensive planning, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting of financial performance, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives, regulatory compliance, and best-in-class financial governance. You will serve as a key advisor to business unit leadership and senior management, influencing strategic decisions to optimize profitability and operational efficiency across multiple locations. This position leads a team of four finance and accounting professionals, including the Manager, Accounting (overseeing two to three Financial Analysts) and the Analyst, Financial Planning & Analysis, fostering excellence in financial management and decision support. Reporting directly to the Segment Chief Financial Officer, Commercial Operations, you will have a business-wide scope of responsibility and a significant impact on financial strategy and outcomes.

Location:

Hybrid role based in Kanata, Ontario, with the successful candidate expected to be on-site three days per week.

Your Day to Day as Senior Manager Operations Finance:

  • Partner with executive leadership to provide strategic financial guidance and influence key business decisions.
  • Oversee all accounting, reporting, and financial operations across the business unit, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team, managing staffing, performance, and departmental budgets.
  • Establish and enforce financial policies, procedures, systems, and internal controls to ensure operational excellence.
  • Manage budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning processes, including predictive modeling and scenario analysis.
  • Develop financial models and cash flow analyses to support capital investment, operational initiatives, and growth strategies.
  • Analyze historical and current financial performance to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to identify cost optimization and efficiency initiatives, driving measurable business impact.
  • Prepare timely financial reports, ad-hoc analyses, and insights for business unit leaders and senior management.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance, internal controls, and confidentiality of sensitive financial information.
  • Evaluate and monitor capital asset programs and long-term investments to support strategic objectives.
  • Continuously improve processes, tools, and systems to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and decision-making capabilities.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting.
  • Minimum 15 years of professional and leadership experience, including leading FP&A functions.
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and financial modeling skills, with expertise in forecasting, reporting, and cash flow analysis.
  • Deep knowledge of GAAP, SOX, regulatory requirements, and company financial policies.
  • Proven ability to interpret data, provide insights, and support strategic decision-making.
  • Demonstrated leadership in driving results, problem-solving, and process improvements.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines independently.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with experience influencing stakeholders at all levels.
  • Adaptable and effective in dynamic, fast-paced, team-oriented environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA or advanced business degree.
  • Experience with enterprise resource planning systems (SAP, Oracle).
  • Proficiency with financial planning and reporting tools (Hyperion, OneStream).
  • Experience leveraging business intelligence and analytics platforms (Power BI, Tableau) to drive insights and decision-making.

The hourly rate for this position in Ontario (CA-ON) at the start of employment is expected to be between $138,000 and $187,000 per hour. The rate offered is based on market location and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to those same considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits.
