Engineering Manager - BWX Technologies, Inc. - Erwin, TN

BWXT is currently looking for a Manager of Engineering at the Technical Services Group, Erwin, TN location.

This is a management position reporting directly to the Technical Services Group NFS D&D Site Manager factors.

Duties include:

  • Plan development and procedure development to support Decontamination and Decommissioning (D&D) work at BWXT’s Nuclear Fuel Services facility.
  • Oversight of D&D engineering team to ensure high quality Engineering department performance. Works with engineering staff to develop the engineering and work documents for renovation, restoration, decontamination, disassembly of equipment.
  • Oversight such that all radiological, safety, environmental, and engineering standards are met, and to ensure work document quality is maintained.
  • Development of engineering products in close collaboration with TSG and NFS staff and subcontractors to meet project requirements.
  • Frequent walk-down of upcoming work areas to ensure viability of engineering documents and plans.
  • Frequent walk-down of field D&D activities to ensure work is progress in accordance with Engineering work documents.

Job Qualifications / Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science is required.
  • Individual shall have a minimum ten years of experience in the field of engineering for nuclear projects (D&D or environmental work preferred), and experience in related support areas.
  • No less than five years of experience as a manager and/or supervisor is preferred.
  • Prior experience working under an NRC license is preferred.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a DOE "Q" clearance (U.S. citizenship required).

Pay: $112,000 - $177,00

The base salary range for this position in Tennessee (US-TN) at the start of employment is expected to be between $112,000 and $177,00 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at-will,’ unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement. The company further reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment, compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and other market factors.
