Manufacturing Engineer - Outsourcing - BWX Technologies, Inc. - Barberton, Ohio
Responsibilities include:
- Work with the BWXT NOG-B Outsourcing team to support the transfer of work to BWXT’s Cambridge, Ontario facility and other vendors as required.
- Develops technical packages for quotations, provides guidance on technical issues, assists with tracking of outsourcing metrics, qualifying personnel, plus other relevant duties.
- Works with NOG-B Product and Outsourcing teams to develop risk mitigation plans and provide fabrication oversight.
- Leads resolution of technical issues, by coordinating key stakeholders and subject matter experts and documenting direction to the sublet vendors.
- Provide updates as required to customer on outsourcing activities, submittals, and the exchange of other technical and project information as required.
- Performs reviews of technical procedures and authors procedures when required.
- Prepares Sub‑Contract Data Sheet information pertaining to operations, specifications and inspections to be followed by the vendor. Meets with vendors when necessary to work out fabrication problems to assure quality and on‑time delivery.
- Assumes responsibility of assigned components being outsourced. Assures all problems with vendor fabrication is resolved without unnecessary delay to product performance and no sacrifice to product quality. Takes necessary action to assure problems do not recur.
- Travel up to 40% of the time and may increase as project needs evolve.
Job Qualifications/Requirements:
- Strong communications skills, and interest in working with multiple disciplines in support of product design and manufacture and adept with MRP & Microsoft Office programs.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical Engineering preferred)
- Minimum of 4 years of experience
- Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a DOE issued Security Clearancee
- Preferred candidate to have knowledge of the components planned to be outsourced
Pay: $64,000 - $101,000
The base salary range for this position in Ohio (US-OH) at the start of employment is expected to be between $64,000 and $101,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at-will,’ unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement. The company further reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment, compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and other market factors.
