DOE Compliance Specialist - Nuclear Fuel Services, Inc. - Erwin, TN
Summary Description of Job:
Responsible for the development and administration of security programs to ensure compliance with the Department of Energy requirements through the systematic and disciplined administration of applicable DOE Orders, Implementation Bulletins, Security Plans, and implementing procedures.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Develop and maintain Security plans and procedures to ensure compliance with all DOE requirements.
2. Act as a subject matter expert with the level of knowledge for the implementation of applicable DOE Orders, manuals, and associated directives.
3. Provide interpretations, recommendations, and technical assistance to Security Management, supervision, security officers, and plant personnel ensuring compliance with applicable DOE Orders, Implementation Bulletins, Security Plans, implementing procedures and oversight of DOE Compliance related projects.
4. Perform regulatory required self-assessments of DOE Program.
5. Perform technical security evaluations of equipment and devices (i.e. medical devices) for authorization approval.
6. Maintain all required documentation and act as the primary point of contact for annual DOE Surveys and Security Self Assessments.
7. Maintain the Information Protection Program to include all classified repositories, locks combinations, open storage locations, and document transmittals and destruction.
8. Provide oversight of the Personnel Access Authorization Program to include audits, initiations, and closeouts, as needed.
9. Oversee Escort Training Program to include development, maintenance, and performance of recurring training as required.
10. Serve in a substitute role for Personnel Security/Clearance Processing.
11. Serve in a substitute role for Access Control Technician.
12. Trained and qualified to act as National Criminal Information Center (NCIC) Operator.
13. Manage the Incidents of Security Concern (IOSC) Program. Perform inquiries and develop reports for IOSC events.
14. Draft all required reports; maintain detailed records and program metrics for review by management, internal auditors, and regulatory personnel.
15. Attend training and certification per current DOE requirements.
16. Execute additional security related projects and work as assigned by the DOE Compliance Unit Manager.
Educational Requirements of Job:
B.S. or any equivalent combination of education and experience or without B.S. Degree ten (10) years in DOE/Security related field.

Pay: $77,000 - $112,000
The base salary range for this position in Tennessee (US-TN) at the start of employment is expected to be between $77,000 and $112,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at-will,’ unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement. The company further reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment, compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and other market factors.
