Job Description/Duties:

  • Use Purchasing policies and procedures to prepare accurate solicitations, which reflect all technical and administrative requirements.
  • Evaluate bids and select suppliers and place purchase orders to approved suppliers accordingly.
  • Manage supplier submittals for compliance with technical and commercial specifications.
  • Coordinate the communications of technical and commercial information between internal functional stakeholders and the supplier to insure successful order processing by sub contract machining suppliers.
  • Allocate material to subcontract suppliers for machining.
  • Complete bid analysis with supporting documentation in support of the Purchasing requirements.
  • Coordinate resolution of supplier technical problems, claims, and specification issues as needed.
  • Track open orders and report status on a monthly basis or as required in support of the business needs.
  • Manage open invoice issues and delivery discrepancies with internal customers and external suppliers.
  • Manage vendor approval process for the commodities assigned.
  • Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a related field is required.
  • Must possess at least two (2) years of relevant experience.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen with no dual citizenship.

Job Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Preferred commodity experience in a manufacturing environment procuring sublet machined and fabricated components.
  • Familiarity with Government Purchasing regulations FARS and DFARS.
  • SAP Purchasing knowledge for the Requisition to Receipt processes.
  • Microsoft Excel basic spreadsheet capabilities along with Word and Power Point basic skills
  • Must have strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Must be able to clearly communicate with suppliers and in-house technical personnel.
  • Meet Purchasing goals and business expectations for cost, quality, and service
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE security clearance, if required.

The Buyer will work a 9/80 work week while receiving market leading pay, paid time off, paid winter holiday shutdown, educational refund plan, medical, dental, vision and service-based retirement contributions with additional 401k match.

The base salary range for this position in Ohio at the start of employment is expected to be between $62,000 and $97,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at-will,’ unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement. The company further reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment, compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and other market factors.
