About the role:
We have an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Engineer III focusing on Active Implantable Hardware Design for New Product Development and Sustaining team. This role will utilize a variety of new and proven technologies to deliver life-changing medical devices to patients and clinicians in support of BSC’s mission.

At Boston Scientific, we value collaboration and synergy. This role follows a onsite work model requiring employees to be in our local office at least four days per week.

Your responsibilities will include:
- Create schematics, layouts, BOM’s and other design outputs as needed utilizing Altium Designer
- Simulate circuits using PSpice or similar software.
- Designs, develops, debugs, modifies, and tests electrical circuits and systems by using current tools, analysis techniques, and technologies.
- Assist with updating Electrical lab equipment qualifications, test methods, test method validations, protocols, and reports.
- Research, develop, designs, and tests electrical components, equipment, software systems, and networks.
- Leverage internal/external partners as necessary to achieve project objectives.
- Work cooperatively with Process Development, Quality, Manufacturing, Regulatory, Clinical, and Marketing on complex projects to ensure project success.
- Solve engineering problems by analyzing the situation and recommending correct or alternative actions.
- Investigate, research, and select components, tools, equipment, and best practices.
- In all actions, demonstrate a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality by maintaining compliance with all documented quality processes and procedures.
- Tracks electrical development effort by creating and maintaining records in the approved tracking management tool to include, utilizing multiple version control, defect tracking, and peer review tools including Accurev, JIRA and Windchill.
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical or similar Engineering.
- 4+ years of relevant electrical engineering experience with a bachelor’s degree, or 2+ years with a master’s degree.
- Experience with change management and issue tracking tools such as JIRA, AccuRev, Windchill etc.
- Ability to collect, organize, synthesize, and analyze data; summarize findings; develop conclusions and recommendations from all stakeholders using all sources of data.
Preferred qualifications:
- In-depth conceptual, practical and technical and/or functional knowledge of principles and theories of board level electrical engineering and general understanding of related job functions.
- Be a “self-starter” and willing to reach out to cross-functional team members to facilitate design changes.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Medical device design control process and documentation experience (i.e. – Windchill).
- Experience with electro-mechanical systems and accessories.
- CAD drawing or Electrical schematic, BOM management experience is a major plus.
- Ability to draw conclusions and make recommendations based on technical inputs from multiple and varied sources.
- Create protocols, automate tests, general experience in Perl, Python, HTML, scripting or equivalent.
