About the Role:
This role is responsible for supervising team members on the Maple Grove Polymers Planning team. The team consists of supply chain professionals who interface daily with production in Maple Grove and various customers, both internal and external, to the Maple Grove site. Related responsibilities include the oversight of planning and scheduling production activities to meet customer service level objectives while assuring a continuous production flow. This role provides leadership for key processes such as SIOP, SIOE, and CI/LBP projects. A successful candidate should have strong technical and process capabilities along with the ability to influence cross functionally and cross regionally. This individual will possess the ability to lead projects, give work direction and execute manufacturing/materials strategy and tactics.
Your Responsibilities will Include:
- Management of the daily, weekly, and monthly planning processes.
- Supervise production planners, setting and monitoring their goals to align with site strategy.
- Proactively manage supply shortages, communicating potential issues to manufacturing, sister sites, GSC and senior management.
- Facilitate the investigation of component outages and lead groups to consensus on root causes and corrective actions to avoid similar outages in the future.
- Determine and manage manufacturing priorities directly and through the manufacturing planners.
- Track schedule versus actual production, investigating over/under production and making decisions on future build plan while ensuring alignment with FG manufacturing site.
- Facilitate manufacturing planning handshake during the monthly SIOP process
- Ensure process adherence and management of master data elements, including safety stock, yields, lead-time, etc.
- Provide guidance to planners as they create and work through CI projects.
- Manage net requirements, past due production orders, past due planned orders and order reservations to pass on the most complete and accurate MRP signal to purchasing.
- Monitor and drive adoption of Rapid Response for integrated supply planning (Fusion).
- Foster sister site relationships during cross site execution and supply management meetings (SIOE/SIOP), facilitating meeting when necessary, and ensure accurate data is represented at each meeting.
- Owns WIP and subassembly inventory, and projections for inventory planning.
- Identify and implement significant continuous improvements.
- Utilize tools learned through LBP training to drive continuous improvement of planning processes as well as planning support of all Operations metrics.
- Measures key metrics, i.e. inventory, customer service levels, component outages, past due production orders, plan vs. actual, healthy stock etc.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in operations, manufacturing, materials planning, supply chain, or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Strong knowledge of SAP, Rapid Response (or comparable ERP) system
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization as well as with external vendors
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous leadership and people management experience (1+ years)
- Purchasing experience
- APICS certification (CPIM/CSCP)
