We are looking for a Financial Accounting Analyst to support our Finance and Accounting departments. You are financially savvy, adept in financial forecasting, quick to learn and able to keep up in a high paced start up environment. You will support the Head of Finance in day-to-day financials and be responsible for recording and tracking the financial transactions of our company. On-site presence in our Ottawa office is required for this role.

We are looking for a Financial Accounting Analyst to support our Finance and Accounting departments. You are financially savvy, adept in financial forecasting, quick to learn and able to keep up in a high paced start up environment. You will support the Head of Finance in day-to-day financials and be responsible for recording and tracking the financial transactions of our company. On-site presence in our Ottawa office is required for this role.

What You’ll Do
- Analyze financial data and provide forecasting support based on analysis.
- Assist in financial functions, such as yearly financial audits, assessing, planning, budgeting, taxes, consolidation, cost control and project control.
- Explore investment opportunities.
- Identify trends in financial performance and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process.
- Process and update payroll with relevant employee information (e.g. leaves of absence, sick days and work schedules), T4s, ROEs and government remittances.
- Verify that transactions are recorded in the correct day book and maintain the company books.
- Enter data, maintain records, and create reports and financial statements.
- Ensure GST/HST reporting, bank and credit card reconciliations, and perform periodic accounting adjustments as required.
Must Have
- Proven work experience within Finance, Accounting, or relevant role.
- Adept with accounting software packages, like QuickBooks.
- Computer literacy (MS Office applications, in particular).
- Functional understanding of Canada Revenue Agencies regulations and processes.
- Excellent organizational skills, with an ability to prioritize important projects.
- Strong phone, email and in-person communication skills.
- BS in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration or relevant field.
- Chartered Professional Accountant Designation (CPA) or equivalent designation/certification.
