Location: Illinois home based with ability to commute to Scott Airforce Base twice per week.
BlackBerry Government Solutions maintains a broad, expanding portfolio of consulting, deployment, and training offerings designed to advance our customers’ mobility goals. We are in search of an experienced mobility Architect/Engineer to join our world class Professional Services team.
The ideal candidate will work directly with our U.S. government customers, to architect and design thorough deployments of our enterprise software platform, based on mastery of product architecture and functionality, required infrastructure, secure mobility and enterprise mobility solutions, combined with engineering best practices. The successful candidate will be focused on innovative opportunities to deliver the highest return on BlackBerry’s customers’ mobility investments. The candidate must be proficient with architecting complex, multi-data center solutions, and installing and configuring server-based software that utilizes relational databases, application services, advanced networking and routing technologies. The person filling this role must also be proficient in the ability to build and maintain strong technical and business relationships that enhance the execution of the BlackBerry product deployment and ensure the enterprise customer’s successful long term BlackBerry deployment.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Develops and delivers detailed IT solutions through consulting project activities. Responsibilities include client identification through final invoicing for engagements requiring varied interpersonal and technical skills.
- Designing the full lifecycle of the BlackBerry product deployments for global enterprise customers.
- Supporting Sales teams with high-level architecture recommendations during pre-sales process.
- Serving as the subject matter expert to customers and BlackBerry consultants on optimal BlackBerry deployment, products and configurations in unique and sophisticated customer environments.
- Developing and presenting comprehensive analysis and documentation of the customer’s current state of operations, and recommendations for optimal deployment state.
- Collaborating with Engineering and Product Management and New Product Introduction (NPI) teams on emerging products and technologies.
- Ensuring that Technical Support cases opened during Professional Services engagements include complete descriptions of problem statements, to ensure efficient hand-off to Support teams.
- Mentoring BlackBerry consulting teams on architecture and design best practices.
- Support the sales team as needed in a pre-sale’s capacity as a service line subject matter expert.
- Collaborate with consultants on research, whitepapers and conference talks to drive awareness of the practice’s expertise and capabilities.
- Contribute to team development, including processes and peer support to advance the capabilities of the practice.
- Performance is typically evaluated based on utilization, (i.e., billable hours).
- Performance is typically measured by delivery of agreed solutions within budgeted hours.
- Identifies additional product/services opportunities in customer organization.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- Possess current US Department of Defense Security Clearance at “Secret” level or higher.
- Possess a current DoD Approved 8570 Baseline Certifications (Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II)
- Minimum 5 years of experience with Microsoft Windows Operating Systems, Microsoft Windows Server Administration, DNS, Microsoft Exchange, and IIS required.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in computer software or systems including: Firewalls, Network Appliances, Routers, Load-Balancers, Email, Networking, Internet application platform technology, Relational Databases (i.e. SQL) and Analytical related technologies.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in interfacing at multiple levels of client management.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in managing complex projects.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Technical Consulting or Sales Engineering in software platforms or end to end IT solution implementation preferably within the wireless, high tech or telecom industry.
- Experience with comprehensive Enterprise Software deployment for clients.
- Strong knowledge and technical competence in messaging architecture, MS Exchange, including Microsoft Office Online and Cloud Environments.
- Experience working with integration solutions and software APIs.
- Recent Administrative and/or implementation experience with BlackBerry or comparable Enterprise Mobility Management solutions.
- In-depth knowledge and strong operating experience in at least one of the following areas of specialization: VPNs, Security, Remote/Local Access, WAN, or Wireless (relevant to assignment).
- Experience with scripting languages such as HTML/CSS/JavaScript/PowerShell.
- Quick learner with desire to learn new tools and techniques.
- Strong verbal and written communication, customer service, accounts management with the ability to interface with a diverse set of clients, over the phone and in person.
- Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project.
- Familiarity with the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guides and Security Requirement Guide process; Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS) process; the Department of Defense Purebred program for mobile devices, and Apple Business Manager are recommended.
