Senior Project Coordinator

Our Engineering Services team is seeking a Project Coordinator with recent experience managing large projects in a Software Development group. The Project Coordinator will assist Technical Project Managers in all aspects of project planning and execution with a specific emphasis on resource planning of pools of developers across multiple projects. Candidates should be skilled in project management concepts , and should have specific experience with evaluating, integrating, and using tools relating to resource management. Having a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification would be an asset, but not required.

• Plans and ensures optimum use of shared resources across multiple projects; administers and monitors use against budgets and timelines
• Proven flexibility in management style.
• Works with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Coordination of priorities and scheduling with contractors.
• Detailed gathering, documenting, and tracking of requirements, schedules, budgets, etc.
• Risk management and mitigation.
• Ability to write or contribute to the writing of new contracts for external contractors is an asset.
• Monitors progress throughout the project cycle, ensuring cost and time constraints are met and acting to ensure problem resolution, as necessary.
• Contribute to improvements with processes and procedures.
• Interfaces with technical project managers, software developers, group leaders, contractors and others outside the company.
• Interfaces with most internal departments including Finance, Marketing and Sales.
• Interfaces externally with Engineering Services customers.
• Details oriented, skilled communicator, and ability to bring people together

Required Skill and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Business; OR Technical Certification in related fields
• 3 - 5 years experience in project coordination/management
• In depth knowledge of relevant non-cloud-based tools (ie: Microsoft Project) is required, knowledge of cloud-based tools (ie: Monday.com) is an asset
• Experience in resource planning across multiple project with a shared resource pool
• Experience evaluating, integrating, and using tools related to resource management
• Skills in project planning and management, decision making, problem solving.
• Skills in effective leadership, innovation, analysis and communications.
• Experience with software implementation project management, planning and deployments in an AGILE environment.
• Experience with managing multiple concurrent projects with different time frames.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
• Experience managing projects in the Embedded and RTOS Market.
• Any direct experience with QNX.
• Experience with any of the following quality-related standards:
