Job Summary
Reporting directly to Radar Customer Success, the role of Logistics Specialist will be part of the BlackBerry Radar business unit. This individual will be responsible for coordinating all transportation activities along with some related business operations activities. This will include all Radar transport shipments, inbound, outbound, by air, ocean, and truck, including, import and export customs formalities. Also required is helping to facilitate and streamline Sales Order Processing, and Order Fulfillment duties.
Key Accountabilities:
The successful candidate will plan and execute on the following responsibilities:
- Understanding the business units full transportation needs, volumes and related costs.
- Managing and negotiating with current and potential carriers for superior costs and service agreements.
- Supporting our 3rd party Logistics provider in preparing shipments travelling by truck, air, ocean, export and import shipments.
- Seek and implement process improvements for data interchange between sales order systems, shipping technologies, and carriers to eliminate unnecessary steps and improve data quality
- Ensuring the timely execution of needed documentation at time of shipment preparation.
- Working with carrier representatives as needed for shipment pre-planning arrangements and issue shipping instructions.
- Daily monitoring and tracking of shipments to their destinations.
- Read, monitor, and respond promptly, to all incoming communications (internal customers and other business partners-Domestic and Overseas) to properly manage and control daily operational responsibilities.
- Building and maintaining good relationships with vendors and internal customers.
You will have:
- Minimum 3 years of related experience in Logistics and Transportation.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex shipments via all modes of transportation.
- Having an understanding of technologies used, and available for transportation users.
- Experience in dealing and resolving customs delays.
- Proven ability to prioritize a wide variety of functions and responsibilities.
- Advanced organizational skills.
- Experience with Asset Management.
- Familiarity with tariff classification, along with customs import and export regulations/controls.
- Creative and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in managing emergency situations in an effective business and collaborative manner.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Experience in Dangerous Goods handling and shipping would be an asset.
